Electric autos will run on the roads of Delhi. The fare will be nominal only. Will follow these Routes.

Under the new EV policy of the Delhi government, different facilities are being provided to encourage buses, e-rickshaws, autos, two-wheelers, and cars. In order to provide a better charging facility for all vehicles, EV charging is also being promoted in public places including malls, government offices. All government offices will have a charging facility within three months.

Last year e-auto fair was organized by the department along with giving subsidies and interest rebates on the purchase of e-vehicles. Out of 4216 permits issued for this, 33 percent have been reserved for women, so that they can become self-reliant.

Pink color autos will be launched on the roads. The special thing will be that their drivers will be women only and women will also feel safe during the journey in them. Giving another relief to promote e-vehicles, the government has made a provision for the transfer of permits after one year. Till now, there was a facility to transfer the permit only after five years of buying a CNG auto.

The second e-bus will run soon in Delhi:

In the last quarter of last year, e-vehicles accounted for more than nine percent of total vehicle sales. In January, the first e-bus of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) was launched on the road. The second bus is also ready to run soon.

Charging stations and points are also getting a boost:

The government has taken a phased initiative to promote e-vehicles. After the financial assistance, the efforts of the Transport Department are also going on to provide a better charging facility.

People are being encouraged to set up charging stations and points in depots for buses and at public places for other vehicles. Relief is also being given by the government to set it up. Charging points can be installed in your home, shop for just Rs 2500. With the increase in charging facilities in government offices and malls, people will not face any problem in charging e-vehicles.

Facility to reach the end from metro stations

The government has also held talks with Delhi Metro to promote e-autos. A last-mile transport facility will be provided to the passengers. Under this, e-autos will be operated from metro stations on the remaining permits for women. Last year, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) introduced feeder buses on three routes. For this, 25 buses were launched in August 2021. However, a gradual increase in the number of passengers is expected.

Department has received 50 percent of applications

During the e-auto fair held last year, women along with men also participated and bookings for vehicles were also done showing interest in buying e-autos. The Transport Department has given them relief in the form of the facility to buy PSV badges after buying e-autos. This is expected to increase sales as well as the number of permit holders for vehicles. The interest of women also started increasing gradually and the department has also received applications for about 50 percent permits out of the reserve.
