There is no mahant in Mahavir Mandir, Patna, nor is there any official connection with the management of this temple with Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya. So far, no hearing has been held on the application made by the President of Hanumangarhi to the Bihar State Religious Trust Board. If an order is passed by the Bihar State Religious Trust Board or any competent court, then it is another matter.
The history of the Mahavir temple has been written in the decision of the High Court:-
Shri Mahaveer Sthan Trust Committee is functioning legitimately for the management and operation of Mahavir Mandir Patna. Acharya Kishore Kunal told that Hanumangarhi does not have any such document from which his right is made. He told that the entire history of the Mahavir temple has been written in the decision of Patna High Court of 1948 AD. There is no mention of Hanumangarhi anywhere in this. In 1987, when the scheme for the operation of Mahavir Mandir was prepared by the Board of Religious Trust, there is no mention of Hanumangarhi or Mahanti anywhere in the temple. Gopal Das ji went to Patna High Court and Supreme Court against that scheme. The present trust has been ratified by both the apex courts and accordingly the trust is functioning.
Mahants are not above the court:-
Acharya Kishor Kunal further said that the President of Hanumangarhi, Shri Prem Das is not above the Supreme Court, nor can his statement overturn the decision of the High Court and the Supreme Court.
