AKTU colleges mandated to declare fees for all courses

Lucknow: Affiliated engineering and management colleges under Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) have been instructed to make public the fees for each course offered on their official websites. The directive comes from the state's technical education department, urging AKTU to ensure compliance with this online fees disclosure requirement across all its affiliated institutions.

Professor JP Pandey, AKTU's vice-chancellor, emphasized, "As part of the 'Know Your College' initiative, our affiliated colleges are mandated to transparently display the fees for every course on their respective websites.

Strict measures will be enforced against those who do not meet this requirement by February 29," he further stated. This decision is geared towards fostering transparency and uniformity in fee structures. With this regulation, institutions will be prohibited from imposing excessive or undisclosed fees for professional courses, as all fee information will be subjected to scrutiny.

The government resolution now mandates colleges and universities to provide comprehensive information ahead of the admission process. This includes details such as fees, placement statistics, faculty qualifications, ongoing research initiatives, infrastructure specifications, and more. However, gathering this requested data presents challenges for educators, particularly amidst their research and administrative responsibilities, which are further complicated during election duties.
